About Bhorgir
The Bhorgiri Bhimashankar Trek is a popular trekking route located in the Sahyadri mountain range of Maharashtra, India. It offers a thrilling and scenic trekking experience, taking you through dense forests, rugged terrains, and picturesque landscapes.
The trek starts from the village of Bhorgiri, which is approximately 70 kilometers away from Pune. From Bhorgiri, the trail winds its way through lush green forests, offering glimpses of diverse flora and fauna along the way. The monsoon season, from June to September, is an ideal time to undertake this trek as the entire region transforms into a verdant paradise with numerous waterfalls and streams.
The trek to Bhimashankar, a famous pilgrim site dedicated to Lord Shiva, is moderate in difficulty and can be completed within a day. The total trek distance is around 6-7 kilometers, with an elevation gain of approximately 1,200 meters.
As you ascend, you will encounter steep slopes, rocky patches, and mesmerizing viewpoints offering breathtaking vistas of the surrounding valleys. Keep an eye out for wildlife such as langurs, birds, and if you're lucky, you may even spot some rare species like the Malabar Giant Squirrel.
Itinerary
Day 1:
Depart from Pune/Mumbai
Depart from Pune in Private Vehicle as per the group size.
Route & Pickup Point for Pune:
- • Pickup point – Meet at Ch. Shivajinagar Near Lokmangal Maharashtra Bank at 10:30 PM.
- • Multiple on route pickup point available.
- • Route will be Ch. Shivajinagar –> Aundh – Jagtap Dairy – Kokane Chowk – Nashik Phata – Bhosari – Bari Village (Kalsubai).
Route & Pickup Point for Mumbai:
- • Catch 08:44 PM Fast Local from CSMT to Kasara & reach Kasara.
- • 8:44PM CSMT –> 8:51PM Byculla – 8:58PM Dadar – 09:07PM Kurla – 09:11PM Ghatkopar – 09:22PM Mulund – 09:26PM Thane – 09:42PM Dombivali – 09:52PM Kalyan – 09:57PM Shahad – 10:00PM Ambivli – 10:06PM Titwala – 10:13PM Khadavli – 10:20PM Vasind – 10:26PM Asangao – 10:35PM Atgaon – 10:39PM Thansit – 10:45PM Khardi – 11:00PM Kasara.

- • Freshen up and Start Trek.
- • 03:30AM – Start Trek.
- • 07:00AM – Reach the highest peak and watch magical sunrise.
- • 07:30AM – Breakfast at top.
- • 08:00AM – Start Descend.
- • 12:00PM – Reach Base village and have Lunch.
- • 02:30PM – Leave for Pune & Reach by 9 PM with full of Memories.
- • 02:30PM – Leave for Kasara by Jeep and then by local to Mumbai.
- • 05:00PM – Reach Kasara & take available local to Mumbai. (Arrival Time Depends on Pace of Group and Traffic)
