About Harishchandragad
Harishchandragad is a hill fort located in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra,
India. It is a popular trekking destination known for its scenic beauty, historical
significance, and challenging trails.
The fort is situated in the Western Ghats at an elevation of around 1,424 meters
(4,672 feet) above sea level. It is part of the Malshej Ghat region and offers
breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and mountain ranges.
Harishchandragad is famous for the Konkan Kada, a massive cliff face that offers a
mesmerizing view of the Konkan region. It is a favorite spot for trekkers and
nature enthusiasts. The Kedareshwar Cave, which houses a Shiva Linga, is another
attraction on the fort.
Trekking to Harishchandragad involves a moderate to difficult level of difficulty,
depending on the route chosen. The most popular trail starts from the village of
Pachnai and takes around 2-3 hours to reach the top. It is the easiest route to reach
top.
During the monsoon season (June to September), the fort transforms into a lush
green paradise with numerous waterfalls and streams. The weather can be
unpredictable, and it is advisable to check the forecast before planning a trek. It is
recommended to carry proper trekking gear, sufficient water, and food supplies.
Harishchandragad also has several historical attractions, including ancient temples,
caves, and remnants of fortifications. The Harishchandreshwar Temple, dedicated
to Lord Shiva, is a significant religious site for pilgrims.

- Good Trekking Shoes.
- Extra pair of clothes and socks.

- Electral/Glucon - D energizer drinks.
- 2-liter water bottle. (1 liter each)
- A Sweater/ Warm wear/ Rainwear. Wear comfortable clothing during trek (full sleeves Shirt T-Shirt, Avoid Jeans).
- Head Torch / Hand Torch Compulsory.
- Cap / Hat, goggles, sunscreen, Odomos.
- Camera, Binocular (Optional).
- Identity proof (must).
- Toiletries (Napkin, Face Wash, Tissue, Toilet paper, Sanitizer).
- Slippers (At the end of day or trek so you feel relax).

Itinerary
Day 1: Depart from Pune in Private Vehicle as per the group size.
- • Pickup point – Meet at Ch. Shivajinagar Near Lokmangal Maharashtra Bank
at 10:30 PM.
- • Multiple on route pickup point available.
- • Route will be Ch. Shivajinagar – Aundh – Jagtap Dairy – Kokane Chowk –
Nashik Phata – Bhosari – Pachnai Village. .
Day 2: - Reach Base Village & Start Trek.
- • 03:00 AM – Reach Base Village.
- • Freshen up and Start Trek.
- • 03:30 AM – Start Trek.
- • 07:00 AM – Reach on top and Explore. Visit Harishchandreshwar Temple, Kedareshwar Temple, Pushkarni & Caves.
- • 08:30 AM – Start Trek to Kokankada.
- • 09:00 AM – Reach Kokankada and have a Breakfast.
- • 10:00 AM – Start Descending.
- • 12:30 PM – Reach Base Village and have Lunch.
- • 02:30 PM – Leave for Pune & Reach by 9 PM with full of Memories.
- • 02:30 PM – Leave for Kasara by Jeep and then by local to Mumbai.
- • 05:00 PM – Reach Kasara & take available local to Mumbai. (Arrival Time Depends on Pace of Group and Traffic)
